Tryout Information

Tryouts:

Tryouts will begin on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026 at Skyridge High School.  Time TBD.

Player must be present each day. Results will be posted each night, starting Feb 23, 2026

 

*** Physical exam form, tryout checklist form, and Concussion awareness form must completed and uploaded to registermyathlete.com before a player can take the field for tryouts. “The Code of Conduct” form is to behanded in to the head coach in person.

 

Deadline for all forms is February 20, 2026 by 8 pm

Tryouts are specifically towards small-sided games, and necessary. Criteria for team selection will be based on:

**Individual technique (shooting, passing, control, defense…).

**Tactical knowledge and positional understanding.

** Timed Run: 2 miles in (12:30 Varsity and JV), and (14:30 for Keepers) minutes on the designated route, this is a requirement to have the opportunity to play Varsity and JV. This will only take place when a coach is present, and they will follow the athletes on the route. Run must be passed off to make the St. George roster trip.

Special Note::: If you get caught cheating during the run, NO tryouts for you.

Speed and physical strength (work rate, pure speed…) Individual awareness, ability to anticipate and adjust. Communication and Team play (on and off field) Team selections will begin immediately.  The Skyridge coaching staff will make team selection.

 

 The Team:

A total of 46-48players shall participate in the program, which can vary.

The High School soccer program will consist of a pool of these players, and each will have the opportunity to compete for the Varsity, JV and sophomore team. Seniors only participate on Varsity, Junior’s only participate on either/or JV and Varsity, sophomores and freshmen participate on any team. The day before matches, players will be rostered on the designated team for the next day. Players will play in the predetermined match as selected by the Coaches. Active participation at practice will lead to the proper development of each player; however, participation does not guarantee game time.

 

NOCLUB GEAR at Practices or tryouts:

Each player that makes the team is a “Skyridge Falcon”, which includes NO CLUB GAMES OR PRACTICES UNTIL THE HIGHSCHOOL SEASON IS OVER, and we will enforce that no “Club” gear is allowed at high school practices and games. Each player will have training gear and the opportunity to purchase more “Spirit Gear” to help facilitate this.
